TEMPORARY TREE LIMB COLLECTION COMPLETE

The Owensboro Sanitation Department has completed their round through the City to clear the tree limb debris left from the storm that passed through our community last month. The previously extended limb collection has now ended, which means Sanitation crews will no longer accept loose limbs placed curbside for collection. Crews have converted all equipment back to leaf collection and will focus their efforts in that area. You can monitor leaf zone progress through the local newspaper, radio stations, city website at Owensboro.org, the city Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, or mobile phone text alerts.

Reminders for leaf collection:

  • Don’t mix limbs, yard waste or trash with leaves

  • Do not wet leaves

  • Rake leaves curbside in the yard – not the street or sidewalk

  • Make leaf piles accessible for sanitation crews

  • Do not cover up water meter lids with leaf piles

Regular limb collection will resume on February 17, 2020. City Sanitation customers are always welcome to use the Daviess County Transfer Station. With your sanitation bill and a photo I.D., drop-off is free of charge! Please note, they are limited to accepting 16” diameter or less for tree limbs. If you have anything larger, please make other disposal or collection arrangements.
