Sanitation Department Leaf and Limb Pickup
The Owensboro Sanitation Department provides: LEAF SEASON- WILL RESUME MID-OCTOBER (TBA)
The systematic ,street by street leaf collection, where we will be collecting organized leaf piles is currently suspended during our limb season.
LImbs are collected on your scheduled trash day. Please place limbs at least 2 feet away from your toter and please do not block them with cars.
Bagged and canned yard waste is collected year round each week on your trash day! Please place at least 2 feet away from your solid waste containers and visible at the curb.
Curbside limb collection is not the only option. You also have the choice to haul to DC Transfer station on Grimes Ave. If you take your limbs to the DC transfer station you need to take a current copy of your OMU bill and a picture ID with.
Curbside limb collection is currently underway.
Limb collection has now begun! Loose leaves may be placed curbside for systematic collection. Please keep all limbs behind the curb to ensure storm drains may remain clear of debris. Please leave plenty of clearance around your limbs and do not block with any parked vehicles. Piles must be accessible to our drivers upon arrival. Entering your home address will identify your limb zone and other collection information pertaining to your home.
Guide to Quality Service
- Be ready on collection day. Once crews pass through your area, they cannot return for late collections. Return collections are expensive in fuel, labor and maintenance costs.
- Place leaves curbside, in your yard waste can or bag, not on sidewalk or in the street
- Do not place limbs over sidewalks or other obstructions.
- Do not mix limbs with other debris or trash.
- Do not block limb piles with vehicles.
