Bluegrass on the Banks

Location: Smothers Park Overlook Stage
The series will showcase a variety of bluegrass music on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from May through September, and some extra shows on Fridays in September. There will also be a couple of ROMP week bonus shows! Performances will be from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the River Overlook stage in Smothers Park at the north end of Frederica Street.

Bound the Mines

Bound the Mines is a 5 mile and 13.1 mile trail race. The event will take place on the Rudy Mines trails. This event is being put on to replace the cancelled Bound the Mound race in Evansville.

Ten City of Owensboro Neighborhood Alliances will host neighborhood cleanups this year. The cleanups will take place from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. All residents in the cleanup areas are encouraged to help beautify the neighborhood by picking up litter along sidewalks and streets on their cleanup day. To see the boundaries for your neighborhood alliance, visit www.owensboro.org.
The Sanitation Department will provide free curbside pickup for junk furniture, appliances and other items to its residential customers in this neighborhood alliance area. Items must be left at the curb by the Friday night prior to the day of the cleanup. If you have large items to set out, please call the City Action Line at 270-687-4444 or e-mail cityaction@owensboro.org BY THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE CLEANUP. Smaller items must be bagged or boxed. The sanitation crews CANNOT pick up construction debris/materials, yard waste, dirt, paint, or any type of liquid.

SPECIAL CALLED MEETINGS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the regularly scheduled 12:00 p.m. work session for June 12, 2018 for the Owensboro Board of Commissioners has been cancelled.
The Owensboro Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called Meeting at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, in the Commission Chambers located on the fourth floor at City Hall, 101 E. 4th Street.
The purpose of the Special Called Meeting is to conduct a Public Hearing on the City of Owensboro’s proposed annual budget for 2018-19, the use of the Municipal Road Aid Fund $1,144,981 and the use of the Local Government Economic Assistance Fund $50,000, as contained in the General Fund. Any person(s) or organization(s) that cannot attend the public hearing may submit written comments.
Following the Public Hearing, the Board of Commissioners will convene at 5:00 p.m. to conduct a Special Called Meeting to consider minutes and to consider ordinances – first and second readings – full agendas are attached and posted at www.owensboro.org in accordance with KRS 61.823.

Owensboro 10 Miler

The Owensboro 10 miler is one of the oldest race in the state of Kentucky. It starts and finishes at the beautiful riverfront. It is a flat 10 mile loop that travels throughout the city.
