Join us in Downtown Owensboro for a night of fun celebrating the lighting of the Glover H. Cary "Blue Bridge!"
The event will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 6 with an opening light show on the bridge, complete with pyrotechnics. Following the light show, guests will be given the once in a lifetime opportunity to walk along the newly lit bridge under the night sky. For those who aren’t able to attend on Friday night, the bridge will also be closed to vehicle traffic the evening of Saturday, November 7 for pedestrians to stroll the bridge.
On Friday evening the Owensboro Symphony will have three different ensembles placed along the Riverfront for the community to enjoy. There will be a Jazz Quartet performing at the RiverPark Center BB&T Plaza, as well as Brass and String ensembles in Smothers Park.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, certain social distancing guidelines must be followed. There will be a limited number of pedestrians allowed on the bridge at one time, and masks will be required while on the bridge each night. At least six feet distance is encouraged between groups.
Alcoholic beverages, including those in green "The District" cups, are not permitted on the bridge. Cups must be disposed before walking on the bridge.
