Owensboro Parks and Recreation and the Marlins Swim Team are joining together to offer Water Safety Day at Cravens Pool on Friday, June 19 from 9-11 a.m. Join us for a morning of fun-filled activities such as FREE swim lessons, water safety tips, free swim time, informational booths and giveaways; all focused on the importance of water safety!

In the United States, ten people drown each day and drowning is the second leading cause of accidental deaths for children under the age of 14.  In an effort to decrease the risk to our citizens, City staff and the Marlins Swim Team believe it is important for our citizens and children in the community to understand the significance of water safety and being able to swim.

Those who attend the event will have the opportunity to get a $5 discount on future swim lesson sessions by registering for lessons at Cravens Pool during the Water Safety event.

For more information on this event, about our swim lessons and public swim times, please visit our website at www.owensboroparks.org or call 270-687-8700.

City pool staff and the Marlins Swim Team want to help you become a safe swimmer!
