The Owensboro Air Show and Kentucky Legend are proud to recognize community heroes during the air show activities on Friday, September 22 at the Owensboro Regional Airport.

To honor our community heroes, all first-responders, active-duty military, and veterans receive free admission Friday evening courtesy of Kentucky Legend.  As a sponsor for the 2017 Air Show, Kentucky Legend will also be registering first-responders and military at their booth at the airport that evening for five (5) lucky winners to receive the unique opportunity to ride along on a sightseeing flight on the H-1 Huey helicopter on Saturday prior to the start of the air show.  “Kentucky Legend is proud to be a part of the Owensboro Air Show honoring our community heroes. Without the dedication and hard work of our first responders and military veterans, we would not have the most treasured gifts of all – our safety and freedom. We also thank the City of Owensboro for planning and executing such an amazing event year after year. We are honored to be involved,” says Vice President Ric Herrera from Kentucky Legend, a division of Specialty Foods Group, LLC.

In addition to this special opportunity for first-responders and veterans, all spectators will be able to enjoy a wide range of civilian and military aircraft.  Spectators will have the chance to get an up-close look at both the F-18 and F-16 fighter jets as well as an assortment of military aircraft.  Vintage warbirds including a T-34, T-6 Texan, TBM Avenger and more are also scheduled to be on display.  The night will conclude with nighttime aerial performances by the military parachute demonstration team and Team Aeroshell prior to a fireworks display presented by Independence Bank.
