BRIDGE CLOSURES PLANNED FOR OWENSBORO AIR SHOW

The annual Bridge Day event giving citizens the opportunity to walk or stroll the Glover Cary “Blue” Bridge downtown over the Ohio River is returning on Saturday, September 15, 2018.  The once-a-year opportunity to enjoy the views of the downtown riverfront from the Blue Bridge will again coincide with the annual Owensboro Air Show.

The Blue Bridge will be closing at 7:00 am on September 15 for the start of the annual Bridge Run 5k & 10k.  This year, the Bridge Run takes on a new format. Race organizers have created an out-and-back 5k and 10k route, both beginning at Smothers Park. Runners will get two trips across the bridge.

At the conclusion of the run at approximately 9:00 am, the bridge will open to pedestrians to enjoy until 12:00 pm.

The Blue Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic the following days and times for the Owensboro Air Show and practice sessions:

Thursday, September 13 – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Friday, September 14 – 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
Saturday, September 15 – 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
Sunday, September 16 – 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
