EAST BRIDGE ART FESTIVAL 2016 EXPANDING

 

The annual East Bridge Art Festival will be returning to downtown Owensboro the first weekend in September.  This year, the festival has partnered with Friday After 5 and will be expanding to two days for the first time.  Beginning at 1:00pm on Friday, September 2, Veterans Blvd. along the Owensboro riverfront will be filled with more than 60 artists from around the region showcasing a wide-array of crafts at the newly expanded two-day festival. 

 

“We are thrilled with the growth of the East Bridge Art Festival in just a few short years.  For them to expand to two days brings more entertainment to downtown for the last weekend of Friday After 5 which is a win-win for everyone” says Tim Ross, City of Owensboro Director of Public Events. 

 

Studio Slant has wanted to expand to two days since the festival first started in 2010. Katherine Taylor from Studio Slant says, “Two days allows for more time for artists to be showcased, and for the community to embrace the arts.  It also draws a larger crowd and draws artists from further away.”

 

Veterans Blvd. will be closed from 10:00am on Friday, September 2 until approx. 9:00pm on Saturday, September 3.
