Major Tim Clothier

BIO:

Major Tim Clothier is a native of Ohio County, Kentucky.  He joined the ranks of the Owensboro Police Department in 1991.  In 1997, Clothier was selected and assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Owensboro Police Department, investigating felony crimes against persons and property.  In 2002, he was promoted to Sergeant.  He was then re-assigned to Patrol Division, as a night shift supervisor. After spending two years in Patrol, he was assigned to the Street Crimes Unit and supervised the unit for three years, before being promoted to Lieutenant.  As a Lieutenant, Clothier supervised the Criminal Investigations Division for two years, Patrol Section A (day shift) for a year, and held the position of the Accreditation Manager for two years, prior to being promoted to Major in July, 2013. 

Major Clothier holds an Associate of Science from Owensboro Community and Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky Wesleyan College and is a graduate of the F.B.I.’s National Academy.  Clothier is also a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Academy of Police Supervision and Criminal Justice Executive Development.

 Prior to joining the ranks of the Owensboro Police Department, Clothier was in the United States Marine Corps, for four years, and obtained the rank of Sergeant. While in the Marine Corps, he served as a Military Police Officer, assigned to the White House Military Office.  He worked as a Presidential Security Guard under former President Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush.

The Support Services Division is comprised of a number of units including: Building Maintenance, Accreditation, Crime Prevention, Evidence Collection, Public Information, Records, Training and the Technology Unit.

The Support Services Division performs a wide variety of functions that support the operation and the delivery of services for the Owensboro Police Department. The services provided include:
