The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is investigating multiple cases that occurred over a two week period at Yellow Creek Park’s Pioneer Village, located at 5620 Highway 144. Detectives say that on Saturday, July 19th, at approximately 7:15 a.m., an investigation of arson was opened in reference to an active structure fire involving the blacksmith’s cabin. The fire caused extensive damage to the front and side of the building. Detectives returned to the park on Monday, July 28th, and observed a picnic table that had been burned and forced entry to the school house building. On Tuesday, July 29th investigators located a cabin on the property that also showed signs of unlawful entry. The Kentucky State Fire Marshall’s office is offering a $1000.00 reward for information leading to an arrest in the arson case.
