We Keep Owensboro Moving!

There are over 225 miles of streets within the City of Owensboro, and like any city, they deteriorate over time. Road reconstruction and repair is expensive. That's why the City Engineer reviews the condition of all city streets on an annual basis and selects the most damaged streets for repair. We do most of the work to repair our concrete streets. On asphalt streets, we do the curb repair work and a private contractor follows behind us to replace the asphalt. Sidewalk repairs are generally accomplished by a contractor. The Owensboro Public Works Dept. Paving Program; Currently installing ADA sidewalk ramps on Burlew Blvd from Byers Av. to Peppertree Ln.Crews will also be repairing base failures in this area, anticipate completing repairs 4/19/11 Detour signs will be in place directing traffic as needed, Motorists may use alternate routes during the construction period and are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing. |

The Owensboro Public Works Dept. will be will begin concrete street maintenance which includes, replacing curb, and sections of the street on Marycrest dr. between Kent Pl. and Standish Pl. befinning 3/29/11 anticipate repairs to be completed in 2 weeks weather pending Detour signs will be in place directing traffic as needed, Motorists may use alternate routes during the construction period and are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing. |
