Twelfth Night; or, What You Will is a comedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written around 1601–02 as a Twelfth Night’s entertainment for the close of the Christmas season. The play centers on the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck. The play focuses on the Countess Olivia falling in love with Viola (who is disguised as a boy), and Sebastian in turn falling in love with Olivia.

There will also be a preview on Saturdays, July 18 and 25 at 7:00 PM before the LIVE ON THE BANKS series.  The show will be free to the public.

Rebecca Wright, a McLean County native, will serve as Guest Director.  Ms. Wright has a master’s degree in Theatre, and is in a Ph.D. program for Directing and Playwriting.  TWO will also offer an Introduction to Shakespeare workshop two to three weeks prior to the event.

The performances of TWELFTH NIGHT, plus previews at community events, will bring culture and literature to Owensboro’s summer festivities, as well as provide afternoon fun for young and old.  We hope all will enjoy this exciting event!
