Paratransit is a specialized service for people with disabilities who are not able to ride fixed-route public transportation buses. We Pledge to assist in meeting the transportation needs of the physically and mentally challenged individual of the City of Owensboro, Kentucky

Owensboro Transit System (OTS) provides ADA Paratransit Service through Green River Intra-County Transit System (GRITS). Paratransit services are available via a shared ride curb-to-curb program for clients certifed through OTS. This service is reservation based and is available within the City of Owensboro. Services can be utilized for medical, pharmacy, beauty shop, or any other location within the City. An application from OTS is required for paratransit eligibility.

    A. Your appeal will be reviewed by the Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilites.

    A. You will receive a written notification of the date and time of your scheduled hearing?

    A. A personal care attendant or a companion may ride free.

  • Q. Will GRITS pick me up at my door?

    A. No, GRITS provides a curb-to-curb service.

  • Q. Can my service animal accompany me?

    A. Service animals are permitted as needed at no extra charge.

  • Q. How many times can I schedule in a day?

    A. There are no limits.

  • Q. What is a "subscription service"?

    A. Subscription service is when you arrange services for standing appointment such as dialysis Monday, Wednesday & Fridays 8:00AM and 12:00PM every week.

    A. Yes
