Our job requires us to work in the traffic every day. Whether setting up signs, painting curbs, or repairing streets, we are exposed to traffic when we work. For our safety and yours, we ask you to be cautious around our work zones.

You can help us to be safe as well as protect yourself and your vehicle by following these guidelines:

• Relax: Traffic delays caused by street repairs are a part of life in every city. Leave home five minutes early and give yourself the time necessary to absorb delays.
• Expect the Unexpected: We try to plan our repair work well in advance but unexpected repairs can find us on any street on any day.
• Slow Down: The best action to take around a work zone is to slow down and give yourself plenty of time to react to problems.
• Obey the Rules: Road signs and persons flagging traffic carry the authority of law. Don’t pass off the roadway or otherwise circumvent the law.
• Thanks: We want to return to our families after a long day of working for you. Give us a brake and help us to stay safe.
