    Friday After 5 is a summer-long series of free outdoor concerts held every Friday on the eight block, stunningly beautiful Owensboro, Kentucky riverfront.

    Friday After 5 began in 1996 with four concerts and grew into a 16-week signature festival for the entire tri-state area hosting more than 50,000 visitors each season on the riverfront every Friday After 5. It’s Where the Weekend Begins!

    Fun. Friends. Free.

    Friday After 5 was again named one of the “Top Ten Summer Festivals” in Kentucky and just won the prestigious Reader’s Choice Platinum Award for “Best Community Event” of the year.  The festival includes live bands, family events, food and entertainment and our “Toast to the Sunset” at each Friday After 5.

    Location:  From RiverPark Center through Smothers Park  to the Owensboro Convention Center downtown on the Owensboro Riverfront on the Ohio River.

    TREK XXIII is a family-friendly, non-competitive event and is open to all age groups. Participants are allowed to walk, run, or cycle the route. The new route will be 11.43 miles which will start at the St. Joseph Peace Mission at 1328 West 3rd Street. From there participants will travel through Bon Harbor Hills and around Ben Hawes Park before heading back to the SJPM campus. There participants will gather for lunch and camaraderie at the end of the event. For over 20 years, David Yewell and his family and friends have held this charity event. Monies raised from this charity event support the St. Joseph Peace Mission for Children. The funding is used to provide a safe home for more than 250 at-risk youth and families served by the Mission.

    This will be our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration where we embrace our richness of African American history. During each hour of the celebration, there will be a series of performances by musical acts from our tri-State area. Dance performances from young ladies mimicking moves from majorettes at HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Dynamic poems from poets from around the city. A basketball game for entertainment. And to round off the event, attendees will learn historical facts about Juneteenth. A variety of food trucks will be in the area and of course vendors will be in attendance to sell accessories, jewelry, novelties and books, and much more. Exhibitors will present to provide community resources to attendees, such as, voter registration.
