In addition to providing an ideal setting for leisure activities, the Greenbelt Park may be used as an outdoor classroom. Trail Guides written by local Naturalist, Obbie Todd, offer entertaining folklore, historic facts, and botanical information about the Horse Fork and West Owensboro Trail areas. In conjunction with the Trail Guide information, tree leaf signs along each of these trails offer the perfect place for elementary school leaf identification projects.
